Future Projects

Although we have identified several areas related to the education and health care of the underprivileged children, currently we are involved in programs related to educating the village children. Most recently we donated a piece of land outside the Kathmandu Valley where we plan to build a school for the village children. These programs include school building and acquiring necessities such as desks, chairs, benches, black-board etc. We are also involved in supporting dedicated orphanages and child care centers. Moreover, we also support the community level programs on sustainable environmental practices and conservation programs. However, foreign volunteers are requested to take these programs as the learning tools for working in the rural communities. You role as an ideal volunteer would best be defined as a facilitator in incorporating the global knowledge with the local skills, but not to replace them.

We ask all to support our programs through their generous technical, material and financial assistance in our efforts for strengthening our local communities.

School Building: one of the reasons why most parents in the Nepal villages can not send their children to schools is because the schools in the far flung area are either non-existent or are too far from their homes. Especially in the remote mountain areas, there are no transport facilities. So, walking a distance of 5 or 6 hours to a school is a normal thing. But this limits the accessibility of the children to the school especially for minors below the age of 12. Thus, every new school built in the remote area would immensely and directly help both the parents and their kids. Besides, whatever schools there are, most lack adequate infrastructure and educational materials. Hence, besides building new schools, it’s also important to run projects on renovation works such as school repair and decoration, toilet building, drinking water projects, etc.

Volunteer Teacher Programs: There is a great desire for learning among the village folks. One of the best ways of reaching out to the rural people is perhaps through teaching. Teachers in the Nepal villages are immensely respected as the bearers of light in the darkness. Still, no any special qualities are required to teach as a volunteer. A basic working knowledge of English and a high school level of education would be enough in most cases. The native English speakers may find themselves at an advantage simply because they speak native English. A general openness and love for teaching would certainly be an access to the children’s hearts. Besides teaching in the schools, the volunteers can also help in adult literacy programs as well as take initiative in spreading the global concerns regarding sustainable environmental practices at the community level.

Volunteer Programs in Orphanage: We are seeking for some volunteers who would love to help educate the orphaned children of Nepal through their care. If you love children and have passion for doing something for them please check our volunteer programs page for the orphanage we support. Basically, your role as a volunteer in an orphanage is to help-out the children in taking care of themselves and learning basic personal and environmental health and hygiene practices. The interested and dedicated volunteers may also get opportunities for teaching the kids in the community schools.
