Volunteering in the community is the best way to get in touch with the real people in need. You not only get the opportunity to serve directly and feel good, but you also gain some cultural practices and insights. Simlarly, working for environmental causes lets you in direct contact with the nature, and help in its healing. While working as a volunteer in the environment conservation projects, you will be working with the community in such works as digging, weeding, sowing, irrigating, and other such field works. You’ll be working in nurseries and nurturing the seed plants to be distributed and planted in various parts of the country.

Another mode for contributing in the Environment and Conservation Programs is to works as a teacher. There are many programs that aim at promoting sustainable growth by using improved indigenous methods and products. The focus is on reducing environmental degradation by making people aware of the negative effects of deforestation, land fragmentation, and desertification.

Like most other developing country, the issues related to women and girl child have been grossly neglected. Most babies are still born in the unhealthy home environments resulting in one of the world’s highest maternal mortality rate.

The integrated programs on Community Education and Health Awareness focus on preventative health and life skills. The role of nutrition personal hygiene and sanitation is emphasized. The issues related to addictions and mental health and sexual and reproductive health are still an underrated aspects of the rural life.
